Laughlin Consultancy are delighted to announce, that Paul Laughlin spoke on Data Visualisation, at a Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) event on 19 June. The CIM Wales Analytics Masterclass for 2018.
This “Analytics Masterclass” brought together prominent practitioners, speakers & writers to share different aspects of modern marketing analytics best practice. As CIM Wales describe it: “Marketing accountability is among the most talked about topics in the boardroom, and insight and analytics is the one of the most sought-after skills in marketing.”
Held on 19 June 2018, at the SWALEC stadium (home of Glamorgan Country Cricket Club), the full-day masterclass touched on various aspects of analytics. Topics included data visualisation, business intelligence (BI) strategy, getting the best out of your digital data, attribution modelling, segmentation and machine learning.
Paul shared practical advice on Data Visualisation, drawn from his own workshops for DataIQ and training for Laughlin Consultancy clients. This included:
• What good data visualisation looks like
• How to make appropriate use of different chart types
• How to present and visualise data in an impactful way

Back from holiday, I spent a very enjoyable & informative day at CIM Wales Analytics Masterclass. This event was held at Glamorgan County Cricket Ground ( SWALEC Stadium) in Cardiff. A great venue for food & facilities. It was a well organised day, benefitting from the enthusiasm and professionalism of CIM team and Sameer Rahman (organiser & Chairman of CIM Wales).
